FAITH. HOPE. TRUST and PRAYERS makes it all.

I was once a hard-hearted girl. A girl who would go for what she really wanted. A girl who would stand for what she believes. And finally, a girl who would pretend that she could do things even ALONE.

When I was on my high school days, I have been into a trouble that tested me as a person. I have been in the middle of two fighting groups because I really go for what I wanted. These two group which where both close with me but in trouble with one another. I could see the angry and irritated faces of the other group which seems like an angry dragon eager to eat its prey. They impatiently waited on the side of the busy street filled with jeepneys driven harshly by its reckless driver. My heart beats faster, faster and faster as they keep on asking me if I know where they stay. I was really nervous. Nervous of what’s going to happen. My best friends who happened to be with me at that very time were the only source of my strength. They never looked in trouble but instead they were very emphatic which somehow gave me a feeling of relief. Then I heard a scream from the other side of the distorted street. I was in great shock knowing that it was them. They all met and fight with one another. Argument was as hot as boiling water at a really high temperature. I could not move from where I stand, as if I were watching a live action tapping. I wanted to scream but I can’t. I tried to stop them. I haven’t even notice that the quarrel ended. But things followed after that. What had happened is just the start. It never ended there. But I was lucky. Lucky because I have my best friends who never left me as I was facing these trouble. They stick with me until everything ended. We strong FAITH was created. TRUST was strengthening among us. We HOPED and PRAY that that would really end so soon. They also helped me get over with what had happened. From that on I learned that we could never be strong and do things alone and we need people to help us as we go through our life.

Surviving at the own risk

Poverty is a state of being unproductive. It is rampant in the society nowadays. Many are experiencing it. You can even see the face of it everywhere you go. This is how great poverty is.

For me, poverty is, if you don’t have food to consume at least three times a day, if you don’t have enough dress to cloth you, if you don’t have shelter to protect you, if you don’t have stable job to sustain your family, if you don’t have proper education, if you doesn’t have enough medical treatment in the midst of sickness and the like. In short, if you have a way of living that should not be as it is.

How miserable it is thinking that these people are suffering while others even have more than enough but doesn’t know how to value and appreciate it. While these people value even the simplest thing they have and are contented. But somehow, with the intense feeling of poverty, these people tend to do bad things in order for them to sustain their needs. This shows that poverty could divert good people to someone bad because the state of their emotion and mentality has already changed.

Here on our city, poverty is evident on the street children roaming around the city. The dirty, thin children begging for food and money. The streets even serve as their beds. Common sense would tell that these children are experiencing poverty forcing them to look for their own means of survival.

Lucky for us, that our needs are properly provided. We can even have our luxurious wants granted by our parents. Let us not waste all of these, instead, value everything we have because not everybody gets the chance to have what they need and want.

Security counts

Are we really secured nowadays?

With all the bomb threats, kidnappings, political unrest, peculiar diseases and a whole lot more of ruthless activities.
Security at present is at stake.

Dangers are lurking everywhere. Every evil acts, be it on larger or smaller scope, contributes on making the society’s security at risk.

Every possible evil acts are rampant nowadays. Admit it or not but it is evident on our society. We cannot even distinguish the bad ones from the good ones. They cloth their selves as if they are innocent. Innocent people become involved on these crimes without knowing that they are. And mostly, the one who are harmed more are us, the innocent one. Isn’t it alarming?

Examining the status quo of our city, the Zamboanga city, we are confronted with maybe mild, but lots of these heinous crimes. Robbers, Murders, and the like are rampant nowadays. Looking on the micro level, a good example would be the beggars. Beggars who before just beg for money or for foods become more violent. They now force or even argue with you to give them what they are asking. Another is the thieves loitering down the streets. You wouldn’t notice that you were already robbed. And who would think that the robbers would be that decent. They look as if they were innocent. Going on larger scope, lately, the city struggled against MOA-AD, kidnappings, which were all over the city, the Ah1n1 which have already reached the city, the fight against the con-ass and a whole lot more.
And these things threaten our safety.

These things, compared to other places, might be considered mild. The good thing is we seldom have bombs, gunshots and fighting camps but we cannot predict what would happen next.

In spite of these entire volatile situations, all we can and must do is to be VIGILANT, OPEN-MINDED, AWARE and ACTIVE. And let us just pray that this thing would not become worst.

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY

It takes us to different places which we haven’t been before. It allows us to experience feeling which we never felt before. It brings us to the wildest imagination we ever had. It gives enjoyment. It gives excitement. It makes us laugh. It makes us cry. It makes us angry. It makes us feel in love. It frights us and even makes us scream. There are happy endings. There are magical powers and there are enchanting places too. That’s just a little of many experiences we would be subjected to on watching MOVIES depending on its theme.

FUN isn’t it? (:

There are a lot of people who are crazed on watching movies. Like any other else, I am also a fan of thousands of it. I get attracted on all of its kind. Be it cartoon movies, horror, youth-oriented, suspense, sci-fi, actions, love story and the like depending on the type of the mood I have. (: I find it so entertaining. In fact I once made it as a hobby. I would spend my day inside my room (not even going out) just to watch movies. I would also go to the movie house to check on the recent movie and watch it. (: unlike any other people, I don’t get interested with the actors & actresses (perhaps just a few like the HP cast ^^). I am more particular with how the story revolves and how the movie flows. (:

I would sometimes fantasize a setting or personality from the movie which is really far-from-the-reality. (: I would imagine magic wands, pixie, alien, people fighting on air, talking animals & things, an-almost-perfect beautiful girl & an-almost-perfect handsome guy that would some how be true. But hey, wake up Eush! Those movies are all for your eyes only. It is your IMAGINATION’s work to make it TRUE and ALIVE. (:

NO ENOUGH WORDS

She is a no ordinary girl.
She would push me every time I fall. Help me stand whenever I stumble. Dry my tears when ever I cry. Fight with me whenever I’m in trouble, be my guide when ever I go astray. She would scold. She would castigate. She would discipline. She would punish. But for sure, I would be the foremost beneficiary. She would be She never fails to understand me, to give her support, most of all to give LOVE & CARE. She is my best friend. My sister. My adviser. My teacher. My manager. My playmate and everything else she could be. Yes, this girl can take everybody else’s place but whose place anybody else can’t take. This girl is whom I call MOMMY.

I have been the living witness of how my mom (& dad) struggles just to provide us with our wants and needs. (Not just my mom but also my aunts and grand mom whom I used to live with). She would still work even though her body would demand for rest. She would provide me with my needs disregarding the facts that she has her needs too. She would stay late at night just to accompany me finish my school works although she has her works too.

I remember the days when she stayed abroad. Even how far she is, she would make sure that I’m doing well. She would call at least once a day to check if everything’s fine. If I don’t have any diseases, (she would ask me to take this and that if I got one ^^), if school’s fine and the like. Others would call it as OVERPROTECTIVE, but I love it. I love how mommy would ask those and this. It made me feel very special (:

I know how important I am to my mom. And I knew that somehow mom didn’t feel how important she is to me. And so this last paragraph I have is dedicated to the most extra ordinary girl I have in the whole world. (How I wish you could read this ]x )

SORRY for the bad things that disappoints you, THANK YOU for everything, I LOVE YOU from the bottom of my heart and I’m very PROUD having you as my mom. (: I know I seldom utter these words but I wanted you to know that this is what I really feel and that those words are not enough to replace everything you’ve done.
I’m very blessed to have the wonderful mom on the whole world.

me? A Bookwom?

Bookworm? Probably, others would say a book addict, a genius, a geek, a nerd and that stuff. Even how people perceive it, it would still fall under the same description. A person who is fond of reading-as translated on a dictionary. Habitually, one is called a book worm if he spends most of his time reading, or simply, if you are devoted to reading. And that’s one thing to be proud of. Since they say being a bookworm is one avenue for an individual to become more intellectual.

So true that based on my experiences reading is one of the most essential weapon towards my studies. And being a bookworm really means a lot, for reading becomes our routine. I was once, perhaps to be considered as a bookworm. It was the days when I lock myself inside my room the whole day just to read books because I missed classes and an advance reading because I’m going to miss classes again. (FYI, I don't cut classes just because i wanted to ^^) And I also do it every free time I got; I read books and other reading materials which caught my interest. most probably, It would be a Harry Potter book (i'm a HP addict making me read them again and again), magazines, a novel and the like. And gladly, it became the most vital catalyst I used throughout my studies. It is responsible for many things towards it,it helped me enhance my writing skills,reading ability,word power as well as grammar and the rest. however, some of the youths of nowadays cannot really see the importance of reading, perhaps because modern technologies take place.but we should remember that reading is still the best food for our minds and still reigns above all.Truly, being a bookworm is cool. (;
